Tabouli (Tabouleh) is a popular Middle Eastern Recipe specially in Syria and Lebanon.

In a small bowl add the bulgur with the water mix together and set on the side. The bulgur will expand and become moist.

In a larger bowl add all the ingredients, parsley, tomato, fresh mint, green onion, cucumber, lemon juice, red pepper powder, extra virgin olive oil, bulgur, salt to taste. Toss together.

The salad is ready to serve.

To garnish, in a bowl place the roman lettuce leaves and pour the tabouli in the bowl of lettuce. Top off with the heart of the roman lettuce.

*NOTE - The key to make this salad to come out successful is to cut all the vegetables finely.

Very healthy and delicious salad that you will love to make again and again. You can eat Tabouli on its own. Traditionally it is served as a side dish, and it can even be put into a pita pocket for a nice snack. It will be a good accompaniment to Chicken Kebab, Beef Kebab, Lamb Kebab, all types of roasts.

Question: I have bulgur but I don't know how to grind it because I don't have a food processor. So how can I grind it?

Answer: You don't have to grind the bulgur you just soak it in water. The bulgur will be tender and ready to use in five minutes. Unless you have the coarse bulgur then you have to grind it. have you tried the coffee grinder? It´╗┐ might work. But grind only if you have Coarse Bulgur not the fine one. Fine bulgur is #1 or #2 I used Bulgur #1 in my Video.

The coarse bulgur will be #4 which usually is used to make a pilaf.

  3. Fresh Mint - 3 to 4 Tablespoons - Finely Chopped
  4. Green Onion - 1 Bunch - Finely Diced

  6. Bulgur - #1 Fine - 3 Tablespoon Soaked in 4 Tablespoon Water
  7. Lemon or Lime Juice - 1 Small
  8. Salt - To Taste

  11. Roman Lettuce - Garnish
